C1018 cold rolled steel is a general purpose,low carbon steel with good case hardening qualities, also suited for Carburized parts such as (gears, pinions, worms, king-pins,chain pins. Also suitable for parts requiring cold forming, crimping, swaging or bending. For severe bends, stress relieving may be necessary to prevent cracking.
C1018 Contains the greatest ductility of all carbon steel grades, produced in a variety of shapes and sizes, its relatively low carbon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur content make it a natural choice for the production of parts that must be welded or subjected to severe cold forming such as crimping, thread rolling, flaring,bending, etc.
